What are the advantages of a Ducted Vacuum System?
Ducted Vacuum Systems offer more cleaning power than conventional vacuums, ensuring a deep down clean that does not require you to vacuum the same spot over and over. Ducted systems eliminate the chances of dirty air re-circulating throughout your household, making them ideal for allergy and asthma sufferers. With the motor located elsewhere, they produce very little noise and offer the convenience of not having to push or pull the motor unit around with you. No more tripping over electrical cords! Our Ducted Vacuum Systems have a range of attachments making them one of the most versatile methods to get the ideal clean.
Aren't Ducted Vacuum Systems costly?
Upon initial installation the cost of a Ducted Vacuum System may seem more than that of a conventional vacuum cleaner. Yet over the life of your system this cost reduces significantly. Firstly, from the moment you install a Ducted Vacuum System the value of your home automatically increases. Secondly, the exceptional cleaning power that a ducted system offers prolongs the life of your carpets, curtains, and other fabrics, saving you $$$ in the long run. Thirdly, it is difficult to put a price on the convenience, efficiency and exceptional cleaning power, but we feel this is worth its weight in gold.
Why does my vacuum cleaner have poor suction?
There could be a number of reasons for this. First, your vacuum bag could be full and might need to be emptied. If this has been done and the problem continues, take note if your vacuum sounds normal. If it doesn’t, it may have a motor related problem such as a broken drive belt or a drive belt that has loosened over time. Drive belts can often break when the vacuum has been blocked. Our best suggestion is to bring your vacuum in for a service.
I have a sore back, what vacuum cleaner is the best for me?
The best type of vacuum cleaner to use when you have a sore back can be a Ducted Vacuum System, as you do not have anything heavy to carry or move around, and the wide range of attachments available can be more tailored to your individual physical needs. If a Ducted Vacuum System is not viable for your home, the traditional answer would be to use an upright vacuum cleaner. Whilst upright vacuum cleaners are generally easier on a sore back, some lighter model barrel vacuums that use a spinning brush system can also be safe to use.
When I use my vacuum cleaner it makes the air smell musty, how can I avoid this?
Some vacuums use bags and others do not. All vacuums have filters. If you are experiencing a musty smell when you vacuum it could be a combination of the bag needing replacement and the filter needing cleaning/replacement. If you have your vacuum serviced, we will clean and/or replace these as required. If not, then replace your bag and see if the problem continues. If it does, clean or change your filter.
When should I change the filter on my vacuum cleaner?
This will vary model to model. Some filters do not require changing but instead can be washed. Take note of the instructions provided by your manufacturer. If in doubt, bring your vacuum cleaner to us and we will provide you with the right advice.
I need a replacement bag, how do I know which is the right one?
Simply locate the make and model of your machine and contact us. We will help locate the correct bag for your machine.
My vacuum is noisy, what can I do?
Once a vacuum begins to make a lot of noise this is an indicator of a problem with the motor. It would be advisable at this stage to have your vacuum cleaner serviced.
Whats better, a bagless or a vacuum with a bag?
It depends on the type of vacuum and your requirements. Generally speaking a vacuum without a bag requires more filter maintenance, and a vacuum with a bag requires less filter maintenance but more bag maintenance. It’s a trade off, and in the end the effective choice is the vacuum that suits your needs most, whether it is a bag or a bagless model.
Do you need a wet vacuum cleaner to pick up water?
Yes. Attempting to vacuum liquids using a vacuum designed only for dry dust or dirt may damage the vacuum and be potentially hazardous. If you wish to vacuum liquids or have a regular need to vacuum spills, we recommend you purchase a vacuum cleaner specifically designed for this purpose.
Can I use a commercial vacuum cleaner at home?
Depending on your requirements, often a commercial vacuum can be beneficial in a domestic situation. Commercial vacuums offer advantages that can make the process of domestic vacuuming easier. Many vacuums that are labelled ‘commercial’ are in fact high quality machines that are ideal for domestic use.
Do vacuum cleaners need to be serviced?
All vacuum cleaners need to be serviced. We recommend an annual service, however this can vary model to model. Some Ducted Vacuum Systems are self servicing, requiring only maintenance in the event of need. Nonetheless, we recommend regular servicing of any vacuum to prolong its life and to ensure that it is operating at peak capacity. This way your task of cleaning up is kept as easy as it can be.
